Gives Spotlight: World Vision Charity

As one of the world’s largest faith-based humanitarian organizations, World Vision serves close to 100 million people in nearly 100 countries. Find out how Thirty-One Gives is working with them to impact and inspire people in need around the globe.

World Vision is dedicated to battling the causes of poverty and injustice, serving people worldwide regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. They are an organization driven by the belief that every child deserves to live life to its fullest potential and that healthy, educated children have a better chance of improving the future of their entire communities. Their work is supported by the generosity of nearly one million individual donors, local and national government agencies and hundreds of corporations and foundations.

With 46,000 people working in nearly 100 countries, distance doesn’t diminish the work World Vision does or the love spread throughout the world. Instead of focusing on the symptoms of poverty, they focus on finding solutions to the causes. They are the world’s largest supplier of clean water and also provide food, shelter, education, healthcare and disaster relief, especially in developing countries.

Responding with life-saving speed when disaster strikes, they bring immediate relief, supplies and long-term recovery so people can rebuild their lives. They’ve responded to over 137 major disasters and humanitarian emergencies globally, including most recently Hurricane Matthew, the Syrian refugee crisis and the war in Mosul, Iraq.

Thirty-One Gives and World Vision have been working together since 2014. Together we have three primary engagements: International Giving, Domestic Giving/Disaster Response and Fundraising Partners through Giving Tuesday. We’ve shipped over 1,100 pallets of product and other supplies across the world to 24 countries, including Albania, Burundi, Ghana, Honduras, Lebanon, Mali, Somalia and Zimbabwe. Our donations are helping families in developing countries by providing them with quality products to assist them with everyday life.

Domestically, we recently provided over 2,500 Women’s Hope Kits to treatment centers and disaster relief zones to help families in need. These Hope Kits were put together at the 2017 National Conference by our very own Consultants. Through Giving Tuesday, World Vision donors gave more than $4,224,000 from 2014 to 2016, and Thirty-One was honored to match these cash donations with 3,100 Hope Kits and $3 million in product!

Be part of the Give! Giving Tuesday is coming up on November 27, 2018. This is your chance to join us as we give our support to those around the world who need it most. Any gift given to World Vision on Giving Tuesday will be matched with a product donation from Thirty-One Gifts, up to $1 million, helping more families in need.

Other ways you can get involved are by volunteering at a World Vision location, sponsoring a child, going on a mission trip or supporting microloans to help a woman in a developing country become an entrepreneur.
