A Virtuous Woman

10 It is hard to find a good wife, because she is worth more than rubies. 11 Her husband trusts her completely. With her, he has everything he needs. 12 She does him good and not harm for as long as she lives. 13 She looks for wool and flax and likes to work with her hands. 14 She is like a trader’s ship, bringing food from far away. 15 She gets up while it is still dark and prepares food for her family and feeds her servant girls. 16 She inspects a field and buys it, With money she earned, she plants a vineyard. 17 She does her work with energy, and her arms are strong. 18 She knows that what she makes is good. Her lamp burns late into the night. 19 She makes thread with her hands and weaves her own cloth. 20 She welcomes the poor and helps the needy…25 She is strong and respected by the people. She looks forward to the future with joy. 26 She speaks wise words and teaches others to be kind. 27 She watches over her family and never wastes her time 28 Her children speak well of her. Her husband also praises her, 29 saying, “There are many fine women, but you are better than all of them.”Proverbs 31:10-29

The first time I ever read Proverbs 31 was with my husband before we were married as we discussed our values and our future life together.  I have always held this proverb close to my heart, and attempt to live up to its extraordinary expectations daily. 

Almost 6 years ago, I was invited to my first thirty-one party by a neighbor, I had never heard of the company or its products before but I decided to go.  I soon came to find out that the company name came from the bible verse that I cherish and that the products were also something I am a fan of – Bags!!!  Right away I was excited about the company and I was grateful I could support the woman having the party in such a faith filled way as she started her business.

After the party, I immediately had the thought of becoming a consultant however, the timing in my life was not right. My husband and I already have our own business and plenty of other things going on in life so starting another business was not on the top of my priorities.  Then, just over a year and plenty of bags later, I was nudged again by a still voice inside that maybe now is the time to sign up.  I asked my friend for more information on becoming a distributor and took a few days to pray about it.  Every time I thought about it, I would get excited and the answer was always an astounding - Yes!  So I decided to sign up and become a thirty-one representative with the idea of just having fun!  I am very excited to start on this endeavor and I am enthusiastic to be working with other encouraging and faith filled women, for a company that has such a strong and empowering mission.
