Hi, nice to meet you!

My name is Kim and I’ve been with Thirty-One for 5 years (Feb 1, 2017 was my 5 year anniversary)!!!!!.  I began my journey after attending an open house type party at work and purchasing the organizing utility tote! I had never attended a party and didn’t even know what thirty-one was! I really wasn’t a bag/purse person but I carried the tote to a couple of my Pampered Chef parties for about a month.  I then decided in December 2011 that I was quitting my part time accounting job to go back to being a stay at home mom again and not have to work every single weekend anymore!! That was my schedule at work….every Saturday and Sunday and every Holiday!! I wanted to be able to go camping and kayaking and stuff with my son that has Autism and Mental Retardation. By the middle of January I was GOING CRAZY!!! I told my husband I had to do something!! I NEEDED ME TIME!!! So, I said to him “I think I want to sell thirty-one”!! He was like “WHAT??? You know what you got into with Pampered Chef and how hard it is to sell”.  I said “I know, but I am going to ask a TON of questions and shadow a couple parties before I make my decision”. We’ve all been there right?!?! Lol Well, this is exactly what I did!! I finally started this “little purse gig” on February 1, 2012 J

My WHY changed drastically in January of 2013.  My husband ended up in the ER in the early morning of January 28, 2013 and we had no idea what was wrong with him.  He was a healthy young man that just celebrated his 36th Birthday on the 15th of January!! They ran all kinds of tests and still couldn’t find anything wrong with him.  They thought maybe he had a blood clot and scheduled a CT scan for 6:00 a.m. Well….at 5:00 a.m. he flat lined on us and they couldn’t get him stable….shocked him 2 times (ended up being 4 times total throughout the whole ordeal) and started giving him all kinds of meds to help him bleed…treating him as if he had a clot.  Got him somewhat stable to transport him to Pittsburgh, still not knowing what was wrong. After being at 2 different hospitals, we found out he had an aortic valve rupture/aneurysm and the whole time he was bleeding…..needless to say that by them treating him for blood clot WASN’T good for him since he was already bleeding out L  After 2 major emergency open heart surgeries, and 9 days fighting for his life in ICU, I am VERY BLESSED to be able to say that he is here with us today!!!  As I saw my husband lying there helpless and fighting with everything he had left in him, I realized how blessed I was!! He was worried about losing his job and I realized I didn’t have to worry about that with my job!! I didn’t have to worry about calling off “work” to be there with my husband!! I didn’t have to worry about losing my “job”!! I could put my job on hold and be there for my husband as long as he needed me to be!!!  We were on so many prayer chains all across the US and beyond!! All my thirty-one sisters…some we never met….praying for my husband and our family!! Care packages and food being sent to my house for my kids and gas cards and gift cards for my family to help during this horrifying time!!!  I AM BLESSED AND I LOVE BLESSING OTHERS!!!!
I am so thankful for where God has brought my family and I in this journey and I love that he is allowing me to share this with others like you!
Thirty One has allowed me to continue to be a stay at home mom and provide many extras for my family! I have met so many wonderful ladies on my journey as well and have added AMAZING women to my team ~ That, I think is the best part ~ the friendships! <3
