Behind the Design: Rose Blush Metallic
Soft and demure, our new Rose Blush Metallic print has a warmth that’s indicative of spring and a sheen that harkens to the rose gold trend that’s popular this year. It’s the perfect color for special occasions like weddings, anniversaries and baby showers, and personalization looks great on this print. Feminine and sophisticated, this is classic spring reimagined for a modern new decade!
A big trend for spring 2020 is iridescent or metallic effects in fabric form, especially in varying shades of pink, so we developed our Rose Blush Metallic print in response to this. In particular, we were looking for a print that would live during wedding season and provide our Customers with a great gifting opportunity. Rose gold has a long, romantic history (see below) and evokes feelings of love, elegance, warmth and femininity in a way that is both classic and modern at the same time. The pale, light coloring of our Rose Blush Metallic print makes it the perfect choice for personalizing gifts for weddings, anniversaries, baby showers and other momentous occasions.
Rose gold was first used in Russia during the late 1800s by the famous jeweler Carl Fabergé in his luxurious Fabergé eggs. It later became popular in engagement rings and fine jewelry in Europe and the U.S. during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Around 1910, it fell out of favor to luxurious platinum and white gold until the 1940s and 50s when it made a big resurgence. Over the following decades, rose gold has become the metal of choice for spring and summer jewelry and is widely regarded as the most romantic of metals.
Wondering what to wear or pair with Rose Blush Metallic? We suggest solids like our Rose Blush Pebble for matching or Chestnut Distressed Pebble for a lovely contrast. It also offers a soft, elegant counterbalance to bold, graphic neutrals like our Desert Dash, Moroccan Tile or Garden Sketch prints.
